Where Seoul & Gyeongju
When 4th Aug ~ 7th Aug (3 nights and 4 days)
Seoul is the capital city of South Korea and the center of politics, culture and history. During the Joseon Dynasty, it was called ‘Hanyang’, and in Japanese colonial era it was called ‘Gyeongseongbu’. However, it was renamed as ‘Seoul’ after Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule in 1945. In 1948, the Korean government was established and was promoted to Seoul Metropolitan Government in 1949.
Seoul is a city where tradition and modernity coexist. ‘Gyeongbokgung’ is the first official palace of the Joseon Dynasty. It has ‘Gwanghwamun Gate’ to the south, ‘Hongyemun Gate’ to the north, ‘Geunjeongjeon’, ‘Jeongsajeon’, ‘Gangnyeongjeon’, and ‘Gyotaejeon’ to the inside.
If you go to Insadong, you can see the Korean traditional food, tea and art. Therefore, it became one of the favorite places for foreign tourists to visit. ‘The Namsan Tower’ serves as a symbolic landmark of Seoul. It is used as a cultural complex and a resting place that provides harmony between the nature of Namsan Mountain and high technology in the 21st century. Thus, Seoul is a must-visit city which contains the past, present, and future of Korea.
Gyeongju was the capital city of Silla for 992 years, embracing its splendid national culture and history. The history of Gyeongju, once called Seorabeol, is also the history of the thousand-year-old Silla Kingdom. Gyeongju embraces Buddhism, science, and vibrant ancient culture blossomed by the artistry of the Silla people and the great spirits of Hwarangdo that enabled the unification of the three kingdoms. Thus, Gyeongju is a UNESCO-designated city which is preserved by the public. Through ‘Bulguksa Temple’ and ‘Gyeongju National Museum’ you can learn about the history of the Silla Dynasty and experience the Buddhist culture of East Asia. You can also enjoy beautiful night views at Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond. Our itinerary includes Cheomseongdae as well, which is the oldest extant observatory in the East, built during the Silla Period. We hope you enjoy the various Korean cultures in Gyeongju and have a memorable experience of our traditional village and food.
